Legend #1 for Symphonic Winds & Percussion. 1965.

Duration: 4:53

This is the second in McLean's trilogy of wind ensemble works written just after he graduated from Crane and was invited to join its faculty teaching music theory and double bass (1963).  Like the first work in the trilogy, the Rondo for Band, this is also both reflective and dynamic, exploring a wide range of wind ensemble expressive possibilities. The influence of Sibelius is fading but still present.
