While Trevor Wishart was in residence at McLean's Univ of Texas Electronic Music Center, they took a little time off from the serious work of composing and decided to see what Trevor would do with his formidable vocal improvisation skills reading a very, very dull synthesizer manual. The idea was to have Trevor begin reading normally and, as the work progressed (or regressed, as the listener might opine) Trevor's reading becamse increasingly chaotic, using his considerable experimental vocal improvisation skills. McLean then took this and provided an accompanimental shell around Trevor's improvisation.
