1959 - 1970:  EARLY CHORAL AND INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC

Priscilla (Taylor) McLean began composing using the tools she knew best:  piano, vocal, and choral writing.  Her first profession was as music teacher in the Lexington, MA public schools, and singing in the Boston Chorus Pro Musica under Alfred Nash Patterson. In 1966 McLean began studies at Indiana University for a Masters in Composition (1969) under Dr. Thomas Beversdorf, which led to ensemble and finally, orchestral writing. These songs and pieces listed are mature works in a tonal style with brief periods of more dissonance by 1970.  Student works are not listed.  For access, just go to the pull-down menu at the top.
